Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Assistant Professor (Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery) – Qualifications:
• Recognized medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part-II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (now National Medical Commission Act, 2025).
• Post-Graduation and Post-Doctoral degrees as mentioned in Part-A of Annexure-II or equivalent qualifications in the concerned Super-Speciality — specifically M.Ch. Surgical Gastro-Enterology (2/3 years course after M.S. Surgery, or M.B.B.S. with 5 years direct course).
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience as Lecturer / Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident after completing post-graduation in the concerned speciality in any recognized Medical College.
• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as on 01-01-2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC / ST / OBC / WFF / PWD candidates of Himachal Pradesh are eligible for 5 years relaxation in upper age limit, subject to the post being reserved for these categories.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Stage 1 – Online Application Screening: HPPSC will screen all submitted applications against the prescribed eligibility criteria. Only eligible and complete applications will be considered for the Personality Test.
• Stage 2 – Personality Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Personality Test to be conducted by the Commission at a notified venue in Himachal Pradesh.
• No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for appearing in the Personality Test. Candidates must bear their own travel and accommodation expenses.
• The date, venue, and exact schedule for the Personality Test will be communicated separately through the official HPPSC website.

• Proof of 3 Years Teaching Experience on Official Letterhead with Experience Certificates
• Detailed Marks Sheet (DMC) of MBBS, MS (General Surgery), and M.Ch.

• Caste / Category Certificate in Himachal Pradesh Government Prescribed Format (if applicable)
