Salary:
Pay Band Level-3: Rs. 20,200 - Rs. 64,000 per month.
Age Limit: As on the last date of application. General/EWS: 18-25 years; SC/ST/OBC: 18-27 years; Home Guards: 20-28 years. Relaxations as per rules.
Physical Standards:
- Male: Height: 5′-6″ (General/EWS/OBC) or 5′-4″ (SC/ST/Gorkhas); Chest: 31″x32″ (General/EWS/OBC) or 29″x30″ (SC/ST/Gorkhas).
- Female: Height: 5′-2″ (General/EWS/OBC) or 5′-0″ (SC/ST/Gorkhas).
Selection Procedure:
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Qualifying.
- Written Examination (90 marks, objective type).
- Document Verification.
- Medical Examination.
Final merit: Written Test (90) + Height (6) + NCC Certificate (4) = 100 Marks.

Rs. 600/- (Uniform fee for all candidates).
How to Apply
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for HPPSC Police Constable Exam through the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC). Male candidates can apply against Advertisement No. 57/7-2026, and Female candidates can apply against Advertisement No. 58/7-2026.
- Visit the Official Website: Go to www.hppsc.hp.gov.in.
- One Time Registration (OTR): Click on the link “Apply Online” and then “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations.” Complete New Registration if not already registered.
- Log In and Select Post: Log into the OTR account; the list of live advertisements will be displayed on the Dashboard. Select the relevant post (Constable Male/Female) and choose ONE District of preference for the Physical Test and Written Test.
- Fill the Form: Fill in the required details: personal information, educational qualifications, and category details.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of Matriculation certificate, +2 certificate, NCC certificate (if any), category certificates, and other supporting documents.
- Pay the Fee: Pay the uniform examination fee of Rs. 600/- through the online payment gateway.
- Review and Submit: Review all entered information carefully, as no correction is allowed once submitted.
- Print Application: Submit the application form and download/print the final application for future reference.

Himachal Pradesh attained statehood on 25th January, 1971. Prior to this date, the function of Public Service Commission in respect of the civil services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh were being discharged by the Union Public Service Commission under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. It was, therefore, incumbent on the State to have its own Public Service Commission. However, since a State Public Service Commission could be constituted simultaneously with the attainment of Statehood, the Union Public Service Commission, on a request from the Governor of the State of Himachal Pradesh with the approval of the President of India, agreed to serve the needs of Himachal Pradesh till the establishment of a Public Service Commission for the State or for a period of three months from 25th January, 1971 whichever was earlier.
